EREA is grateful to all those who responded to this notice in December 2016, and all applications will be considered in the coming month. It would be helpful if all Expressions of Interest could be returned by 16 February 2017.

Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) continues to seek expressions of interest from suitably qualified women and men willing to serve on its national governance bodies: the EREA Council and the EREA Board, and the Board Committees.

Edmund Rice Education Australia is an incorporated body of some 50 schools, flexible learning centres and offices across all States and Territories in Australia. In the spirit of Edmund Rice, and building on the patrimony and sound traditions of the Christian Brothers, it seeks to transform the hearts and minds of young Australians. It aims, through education, to build a more just and inclusive local and global community through presence, compassion and liberation. Its mission is articulated in the Touchstones of the Charter for Catholic Schools in the Edmund Rice Tradition.

The Edmund Rice Education Australia Council is responsible for the governance of EREA, and in particular to ensure the continued development of the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice in Catholic education and to facilitate collaborative relationships within EREA and in relationship with the wider Church and community.

The Edmund Rice Education Australia Board is appointed by the EREA Council, with responsibility for oversight of the administration of EREA Schools and Educational Entities. The Board Committees include non-Board members and draw on wider expertise in relational, educational, legal, and financial matters, as well as other specific skills as needed from time to time.

The Board usually meet six times a year. Board Committees usually meet four times a year. The Council usually meets six times a year. These meetings are held in various locations around Australia. EREA is seeking expressions of interest from a diverse range of women and men with both a readiness to serve in, and appropriate competencies for, collegial governance in this community for mission. For further information on the attributes required or for Expression of Interest forms, please contact the Executive Officer of EREA Council at kevin.buckley@erea.edu.au. It would be helpful if all Expressions of Interest could be returned by 16 February 2017.
