CBHS, Lewisham, is “creating tomorrow” in the area of teaching and learning by engaging experts in the field to help them vision, along with partner schools, the best approaches to schooling in the 21st Century.
They recently hosted international and well respected educationalist and presenter, Tom Hierck. As well as an experienced educator and administrator, Tom is the author of a variety of books including, “Starting a Movement: Building Culture From The Inside Out In Professional Learning Communities” and "Seven Keys To A Positive Learning Environment In Your Classroom”.
Tom presented two sessions. The first session, Seven Keys to a Positive Learning Environment, was aimed at all Middle Leaders of the school. The second session, Leadership for Learning, engaged School Leadership Teams and senior educational leaders.
The second session was attended by representatives from Waverley College, St. Pius X College, Sydney Catholic Schools, the Diocese of Armidale, alongside the School Leadership Team of CBHS.
The presentations given by Tom were high quality, practical and engaging. He challenged participants about their current pedagogical practice and the aims of our respective educational organisation. Staff look forward to putting the ideas into practice and helping the young people at CBHS “create tomorrow” now.
