Melbourne teachers get a taster of teaching Jesus and Nonviolence
Through the work of Pace e Bene and Anglican Schools in WA, an RE curriculum unit has been developed for senior students to explore Christian understandings of nonviolent peacebuilding. Resourced with a range of current and relevant online resources, this unit has been trialled with over 500 students in Perth already.
EREA schools in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney have also begun to look at how and where this exploration of peace education could be incorporated into current curriculum structures.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples of Australia as the traditional owners and custodians of the land of our schools. We are inspired and nurtured by their wisdom, spirituality and experience. We commit ourselves to actively
work alongside them for reconciliation and justice. We pay our respects to the Elders; past, present and future. As we take our next step we remember the first footsteps taken on this sacred land.
