Pilgrimage Immersion – Journeying with Edmund: Ireland-India

Monday 18th September – Thursday 5th October 2017. Expression of Interest Closing Date: Friday 10 March

You are invited into a rich program of pilgrimage and immersion through Journeying with Edmund: Ireland-India

Be prepared for an extraordinary experience.  You will be touched by Edmund’s story and you will discover first-hand how his vision is still alive today.  – Sarah Love, St Mary’s College, Maryborough, QLD

Be prepared for an experience of the spirit as well as of history, of personal engagement as well as of human connection. Participants will be journeying in Edmund’s footsteps in Ireland, gaining a deeper appreciate of his vision for a fairer world. Then, as the Christian Brothers did in 1848, the pilgrims will be journeying to a very different land where they’ll see how the Brothers and other organisations are responding to the agenda of their world in a country enlivened by multiple faiths and cultures yet weighed down with extreme poverty. The character of their work is formed through an emerging spirituality influenced by an awareness of the integral nature of creation which impacts us all but the poor most particularly.

An experience 32 years in the making and the highlight of my teaching career. I would recommend the pilgrimage to anyone seeking affirmation of the importance of education in society, and in particular, the work of Edmund Rice organisations in the global community.

– Lance Nilsson, Parade College, Vic
