About the Organisation:

Edmund Rice Ministries Oceania (ERMO) has been established by the Christian Brothers Oceania Province to govern and manage the work of 14 successful Edmund Rice community service entities across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. The entities associated with ERMO work with individuals and communities to impact and address socio-economic disadvantage, education, social isolation, health and wellbeing, disability, social justice and reconciliation.

ERMO and its entities are in a significant organisational change environment undertaking reforms to ensure a sustainable future. We are working to consolidate and foster a cohesive, well networked group, building on a proud service to the community that has emerged over the last 40 years.

About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the ERMO Executive Officer, this newly developed role is primarily focused on driving the delivery of collaborative projects between the ERMO entities, that support the emerging future directions of the organisation.

The work will be broad and varied in nature, and includes both new initiatives and known projects related to strategic directions.  It will include work related to policy development, communication between entities and facilitation of emerging project ideas that have national or international reach.

Initial priority projects include:

-Developing consistent procedures and protocols when delivering activity with vulnerable children and young people

-Driving the development of a storytelling project – testimonials to our impact

-Working with the entities and business development manager to explore common fundraising platforms

-Encouraging shared resourcing and expertise across the entities

The position will have a close relationship with each of the entities to ensure that the development and implementation of priority areas of collaboration are undertaken with full understanding of the local context for each entity.

About the Candidate:

This position requires high level thinking and a capacity to move concepts and ideas into workable projects, across state and country borders.

The successful candidate will have: 

-Tertiary qualification in social work or other related community service sector fields

-Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management or consultant role

-Experience in strategic planning, reporting to Boards and legal entities

-Previous experience working with people facing adversity

-Ability to work collaboratively at a senior level

-A passionate, energetic and creative approach to work to ensure the vision and purpose of ERMO are realised

-Proficient use of Information Technology such as laptops, mobile phones and their applications

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
