St Virgil’s College, founded in 1911 is a Kindergarten, Grade 3 to Year 10 school for boys in the Edmund Rice tradition. The aim of the College is to support parents in educating their sons within the Catholic tradition and the spirit of Edmund Rice.

The St Virgil’s Junior School (Kindergarten, Grade 3 to 6) is located in Patrick Street, Hobart, adjacent to St Mary’s Cathedral. The secondary campus (Grade 7 to 10) has approximately 630 students and is situated on an expansive property at Austins Ferry.

The College has commenced Kindergarten in 2021 and will become a K-12 College by 2024. During this exciting time of growth and development, the College is seeking experienced and motivated staff to work as part of a team to support the expansion of current operations.

Job Summary

The College Accountant (Accountant) is a senior position within the College’s Finance and Administration structure. The Accountant will work closely with the Business Manager to ensure that timely, accurate and up–to-date financial information is available to the Principal, Business Manager and College Advisory Council and that the financial resources of the College are managed and accurately reported to a variety of stakeholders. The Accountant requires tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or financial management and should be up-to-date with current accounting standards and professional practices.
