Br Denis Moore 1949 – 2021
It is with much sadness that we acknowledge the death of Parade College’s longest serving Principal, Br Denis Moore cfc who was a giant in the history and story of Parade College and of Edmund Rice Education Australia. Br Denis died peacefully on the 19th February, 2021.
Denis James Moore was born on 15th October, 1949 in Sunshine, a western suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. He was born to Colin James Moore (born 5 May, 1923; died April 12, 2016) and Shirley Patricia Moore – nee Malady (born 26 December, 1926; died 12 April, 1989). Br Denis is the eldest of six children, his five siblings Kerry John Moore; Gary Moore; Cheryl Anne Rovere, Lynnette Mary Meehan and Margaret Joynson. He celebrated his Golden Jubilee as a Christian Brother in 2018 and twenty-five years as a Principal of Parade College in 2019. Recently, Dr Wayne Tinsey wrote this of Br Denis:
For those fortunate to have encountered Br Denis in any capacity, his quiet demeanour, experience, wisdom, perceptiveness and wry sense of humour are a ready reminder that the focus of his life, the education of young men within an educational setting imbued by Gospel Spirituality and the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice, was sufficient inspiration for a life of service.
As well as leading Parade College, Denis held leadership positions at a number of EREA schools including: St Patrick’s College, Prospect Vale, Tasmania; CBC St Kilda; St Virgil’s, Hobart; St Kevin’s, Toorak; and St Patrick’s Ballarat.
We offer our prayerful support to the Parade community and especially to Andy Kuppe who is a long-time friend and colleague of Denis. Andy has worked with, and been a close supporter of, Denis for many years.

May the light of this great soul mind us.
May his great dignity free us.
May his gift flame the eternal light within each of us.
May the gift of his great life bless us.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
