About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Human Resources Officer to be the point of contact, support and expert advice for our employees and managers across the organisation with regard to all HR and OHS matters. This is a true generalist role with no two days the same.

The HR Officer will report to the Finance Manager and oversee a part-time HR administrator who assists with general administration tasks, document creation and payroll processing.

Responsibilities include:

*Managing all aspects of the full life cycle of the employee

*Providing expert advice and guidance to managers about employment issues

*Performance Management implementation and support

*Award interpretation

*Payroll processing

*Staff training

*Policy development and implementation

*Workcover – RTW coordination

*Work Health and Safety coordination

*Staff communication

*Preparation and maintenance of employee files

*Special projects

Selection Criteria

*Tertiary qualification in HR or Business Administration

*Minimum 3 years in a similar HR role

*Robust knowledge of employment legislation and best practice HR function and experience in award interpretation (SCHADS, Clerks, Hospitality desirable)

*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

*Detail orientated.

*Strong ability to prioritize, problem solve and multitask

*Intermediate level Microsoft suite

*Ability to work as a key team member and wiliness to work in a faith-based organisation
