The Role

Background:

The IT Support Officer position is based in Melbourne at the Oceania Support Centre (Treacy Centre) in Parkville.  The Oceania IT department Comprises 4 personnel and this is a new position. You will provide support to Ministries around Oceania and Brothers in the community. At Parkville, where the position is based, you will support conference centre staff with AV facilities.

Position’s Purpose:

The primary purpose of the position is to provide IT support for end users of the Oceania Province and to undertake the administrative functions of the IT team.

The Oceania Province operates a network comprising Local, Virtual and Cloud based servers, Citrix Share File and Office 365.

Duties

*Be the primary contact point for all end-user IT issues

*Maintain the IT Helpdesk ticketing system and provide support for hardware and software related issues on Apple and Windows computers, mobile devices, peripherals and software

*Escalate issues to ensure rapid resolution

*Assist in the implementation and review of new software applications

*Provision and deploy computers and phones

*Assist in training of users on existing or new applications

Selection Criteria

*Relevant tertiary IT qualification or experience

*Proficient IT skills and experience in help-desk environment desirable but not mandatory

*Ability to support both Windows and Mac environment

*Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

*Experience and sensitivity to working in a culturally diverse environment

*The hours of work are 8 am to 4 pm. 30 minute lunch break.

*Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently, deliver to deadlines and be a self-motivator

*Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member

The position is full-time including a 6 month probation period, commencing September 2021.
