Non-Executive Directors – Expression of Interest

EREA NSW Colleges Ltd – Subsidiary Board

EREA is partnering with Sheldon Harris for these appointments.

Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) provides a quality and values-based education through its system of 55 Catholic schools across every state and territory in Australia.

EREA runs 31 mainstream schools, 22 flexible learning centres for students who benefit from an alternative method of learning and 2 special schools. EREA educates more than 40,000 students and employs more than 4500 people.

EREA’s governance structure has been reviewed and contemporised through a focussed and ongoing regeneration process. As part of the regeneration a newly incorporated entity has been established. The new (EREA Ltd) Board will operate with five subsidiaries to enable a stronger line of sight to all schools. The inaugural Chair and Board (EREA Ltd) have been appointed and will be fully operational in 2023. EREA Ltd now seeks to appoint Board Directors (voluntary) for its Subsidiary Boards – one of which is EREA NSW Colleges Ltd.

The newly created EREA NSW Colleges Ltd Subsidiary Board will ensure effective governance of seven NSW schools in Greater Sydney, Wollongong & Gosford. Specific NSW regulations present a high bar for not-for-profit status and child safety and significant effort will go into raising the bar. Further, each of the NSW schools presents opportunity and complexity to grow and to thrive.

EREA Ltd, is now seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals, to join the subsidiary board of EREA NSW Colleges Ltd as Non-Executive Directors.

This is a pro bono position. Non-Executive Directors are not remunerated.

As this is a newly created subsidiary board, we will be seeking a variety of skill sets and experience including corporate governance, compliance, leadership experience, education, commercial and finance (property/infrastructure), transformation/cultural change, and HR leaderships amongst other skills.

More importantly, individuals must have a genuine passion for EREA and its mission, for the safety, wellbeing and optimal learning of students and engagement of families and for contributing to Catholic Education in Australia.
