The Schools:
St Gabriel’s School and St Edmund’s College are proudly Catholic schools in the Edmund Rice tradition. Founded by the Christian Brothers in 1922 (St Gabriel’s) and 1951 (St Edmund’s), the two schools today form Edmund Rice Special Education Services and are under the leadership of a single Principal.
St Gabriel’s School and St Edmund’s College are both co-educational schools which cater for children with a wide range of intellectual and sensory disabilities. St Gabriel’s, located in Castle Hill, caters for students in Years K-9 and will eventually be a K-12 school. Currently, 122 students are enrolled. St Edmund’s, located in Wahroonga, caters for students in Years 7-12 and has a current enrolment over 120 students. Both schools are characterised by a vibrant culture and very supportive communities where staff, students and families are committed to a truly liberating education.
The Role:
The Executive Director of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) is seeking to appoint an experienced and contemporary educator to lead St Gabriel’s School and St Edmund’s College into the next phase of their development. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of professional educators and support staff dedicated to providing students with the best opportunities in a safe and inclusive environment.
The successful applicant will be an experienced educational leader with a passion for learning and the relevant leadership experience to satisfy the selection criteria for this key senior position. Experience in working with children with special needs is desirable.
