Welcome to Edmund Rice Education Australia.
We begin by acknowledging the First Nations people of Australia—elders past, present and emerging—on whose unceded lands our schools stand. As a family of Catholic schools in the Edmund Rice tradition, united in our Reconciliation Action Plan, Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) remains committed to truth-telling and the journey of reconciliation for all Australians.
Like any family with deep roots and shared values, ours began a new chapter on October 1, 2007, when the Christian Brothers entrusted their schools to EREA. This bold and visionary decision planted the seeds for a courageous, innovative, and resilient educational community.
Now, in 2025, more than 43,000 young Australians continue to be formed within this community, growing through the message of Jesus, the prophetic mission of the Catholic Church, and the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice—all lived out through the Charter and Touchstones of EREA.
Supported by our family of five governing boards; EREA Colleges Ltd, EREA Victorian Schools Ltd, EREA Flexible Schools Ltd, St Kevin’s College Ltd and EREA NSW Colleges Ltd, EREA ensures that our schools remain safe, accountable, and future-focused—guided by shared Gospel values and a commitment to the dignity and wellbeing of every child and young person.
With the support of our National Office and our Governing Boards, our family of Catholic schools continues to flourish. Together, we celebrate shared achievements in Reconciliation, Care for our Common Home, Charism Formation, Learning, Flexible Schooling, Research, Global Engagement, Leadership Development, sustainable growth, and financial stewardship. These efforts reflect our collective commitment to nurturing hope, courage, and compassion, inspired by our Catholic tradition.
Our partnerships extend across sixteen diverse Catholic dioceses. In these partnerships, we respond faithfully to the evolving educational and regulatory landscapes, always placing young people and children at the centre of our efforts. In collaboration with families, and grounded in the mission of Catholic education, we strive to inspire a passion for learning—so that every young person may make meaning, grow in faith, and contribute to a more just and compassionate world.
To everyone who forms part of this ever-growing family—thank you. Your unwavering commitment helps create the learning environments, relationships, and opportunities that allow young people to find their voice, feel safe, and flourish—so that all “may have life and have it to the full.
