Edmund Rice Movement

Edmund Rice Movement

Across Australia and around the world, many people are inspired by the life of Blessed Edmund Rice. They come together in various ways to work together to make the world a better place for all people and the planet.

Christian Brothers

EREA was founded by the Christian Brothers and we continue to work closely with them in a variety of areas. The Christian Brothers dedicate their lives to the service of others, particularly those at the margins of society. They work across the world in areas of education, community engagement, faith formation and social justice. Since those small beginnings in Waterford in 1802, the Christian Brothers have reached out in mission to many parts of the globe. Christian Brothers and other members of the Edmund Rice Network are now working in almost 30 countries. They are continuing to discern the signs of the times and respond to the needs of the poor and the earth, while working towards a just and sustainable future for all.

Edmund Rice Foundation Australia

The Edmund Rice Foundation Australia (ERFA) is an international development organisation which supports sustainable community-based education programs in developing countries and projects for marginalised and disadvantaged groups in Australia. EREA works collaboratively with the Foundation.

The Province is currently comprised of communities and ministries in Australia, Papua New Guinea & New Zealand, with partnerships in East Timor and the Philippines.
